Orphan Care
An estimated 7% of children are orphaned as a result of conflict, disasters or health inequalities. Humanity First aims to help orphans as close to their home environments so that they maintain contact with extended family where possible and safe to do so. Humanity First’s mission is to provide orphans with a secure upbringing and provide them resources to live an independent life. We focus on creating stable environments with quality healthcare, food and education for all children.
We believe it is every child’s right to have an enriched life with love and support. Securing a better future for children is fundamental in our beliefs. Join us in creating a brighter future for orphaned children everywhere. Spread hope and donate to help widows and orphans worldwide.
Sponsor an Orphan
Many of us will not be able to even comprehend the pain and suffering of losing one’s parents at such a young, tender age. These children, who have lost their guardians – their guiding hand through life. Unfortunately, orphan rates have been on the rise in the last few years, especially with the recent COVID-19 pandemic having occurred in 2020 through to 2023, causing many deaths and as a result, many orphans.
The number of orphans worldwide is estimated to be around 147 million, according to recent statistics. Countries like India, Nigeria, and Ethiopia have the most orphans in the world. These orphans face a very tough situation. Without support and structured integration in the society, they are at greater risk. They may fall victim to trafficking, neglect, and exploitation. Many may also join gangs and engage in illegal activities.

Change a child’s story
Donors play a critical role in changing the lives of orphans. With the resources that they provide, orphaned children are able to gain back the rights they would have otherwise lost, such as: access to education; clean and safe housing to live in; access to nutritious food; and guardians in the form of foster parents that are able to provide and raise these children as if they were their own.
Volunteers are of utmost importance to the operation as well, being able to support the children though guidance counselling, therapy and emotional help. With the time and skills our volunteers so generously give, orphaned children are able to pick themselves back up from their traumatic experiences and live a meaningful, happy life, in spite of their hardships.
Our Vision

We are striving to become one of the best charities to support and provide orphans with the foundation needed for a secure future.
Humanity First’s Orphanages
Hasanah Kautsar Orphanage in Indonesia.
The Hasanah Kautner Orphanage in Indonesia is a Humanity First-managed orphanage, housing orphans who have no other place to call home. Indonesia has been suffering from an orphan crisis for years, with the COVID-19 pandemic worsening this prevalent issue – more than 25,000 children being orphaned due to the pandemic as according to UNICEF. The Hasanah Kautner Orphanage was founded in 2000 by Mr. Mansoor Ahmed in order to combat this social issue. For over 20 years, it has aided hundreds of orphans in turning their lives around from their tragic childhoods, being able to comfortably house over 50 children at a time. Special care is given to enriching the experiences of children with extracurricular activities, ensuring that their childhood is no different than that of a child with their parents.
Orphanage Campus in Kabende in Western Uganda.
Humanity First has also set up orphanages in Western Uganda, with the Orphanage Campus in Kabende. A massive campus, it has been furnished with top of the line equipment, in the hopes that the children who come to live there will grow up safe, healthy and fulfilled . The Orphanage Campus will be set to take in children starting the summer of this year.
Orphanage in Southern Benin.
Southern Benin has also seen support from Humanity First. Benin is a country that has, unfortunately, been suffering from rising poverty. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Analysis in Benin, those living under the poverty line have increased from 36.2% in 2011 to 40.1% in 2015. Poverty has become one of the leading causes of children being orphaned, as some parents are unable to afford the rising cost of raising a single child, much less two. This results in children being left at orphanages or abandoned. As such, Humanity First has set up orphanages in Benin, which are flourishing and thriving with happy children who are being given the greatest level of care and attention.

According to UNICEF, 25,000 children were orphaned in Indonesia during the pandemic alone. In response, Humanity First global chapters support the Hasanah Kautsar Orphanage. This summer, we significantly renovated the facility from floor to ceiling. It now includes dedicated spaces for learning, recreation, living, and a kitchen. We are meeting the children’s needs in terms of living, education, and healthcare. Beyond academics, the children enjoy sports like basketball, develop life skills, and celebrate national and local holidays.
